What Happens During a Full Tummy Tuck vs. Mini Tummy Tuck Procedure?
Our providers’ surgical techniques will depend on the type of abdominoplasty. Both are done under IV sedation or general anesthesia so you won’t experience any discomfort during the procedure.
A full tummy tuck generally uses a traditional hip-to-hip incision. Our surgeons can also reposition your belly button after tightening the skin. Excess fat on the upper and lower abdomen can be removed through liposuction, and stretched abdominal muscles can be repaired. The procedure may also remove some stretch marks.
During a mini tummy tuck, we make a single incision to flatten your lower abdomen. This surgery typically removes less fat but has a shorter scar and recovery period. In addition, the procedure generally takes less time to perform than a full tummy tuck.
