The best candidates for liposuction are close to their ideal weight. Liposuction is a body contouring procedure, but is not a safe method for significant fat removal. Ideally, you should be within ten pounds of your goal weight before considering liposuction.
In addition to being close to your goal weight, to be a good candidate for liposuction you should be:
- In generally good health
- A nonsmoker
- Prepared for a surgical procedure and recovery period
- Aware of all potential risks and complications
- Willing to minimize risks by following all of our pre and postoperative instructions
It is also important that you have good skin elasticity.
