Gynecomastia Surgery can restore a Masculine Chest

Enlarged chest tissue in men is a condition known as “gynecomastia.” This condition can be embarrassing and difficult to live with because it creates the appearance of male breasts. If you have gynecomastia, we provide surgical techniques that restore a masculine chest contour and reduce the enlarged breast tissue.

Techniques that may be used to restore the appearance of your chest include:

  • Liposuction
  • Excision (removal of excess tissue)
  • Combined excision and liposuction technique

Liposuction can be used if gynecomastia is not severe and only a small amount of excess fat needs to be removed. The extra fat cells will be suctioned away, but liposuction cannot remove excess breast tissue and skin the way excision techniques can. If your chest has a great deal of excess tissue, excision techniques surgically remove the glandular tissue and the excess skin if necessary. Sometimes these techniques are combined for optimal results. If you are curious if one of these techniques can address your gynecomastia and restore your confidence in your body, one of our plastic surgeons can discuss your options with you during a complimentary cosmetic consultation.

There is minimal, inconspicuous scarring around the areola which fades over time, and the recovery is fairly easy. Most of our patients are back to work within a week and the compression garment our patients wear after surgery can easily be hidden under clothing.

If you are searching for an experienced surgeon for gynecomastia surgery in Denver, please contact Park Meadows Cosmetic Surgery to schedule a consultation with one of our board-certified plastic surgeons.
