embrace® Scar Reduction for Plastic Surgery
This innovative, FDA-approved device softens, thins and lightens scarring following several types of plastic surgery, including:
All surgical procedures leave scars where incisions are created, but embrace® provides a way to diminish your scars dramatically. It works by preventing the formation of a scar from the very start. If you already have scars, the plastic surgeons at Park Meadows Cosmetic Surgery can perform scar revision surgery, which will be followed with the use of embrace® silicone sheets.
embrace® has proven to be adored among our patients who have had a chance to use it:
“After embrace® Scar Therapy was applied, I could immediately stand up easily with little to no tension in my abdomen from my hip-bone-to-hip-bone incision. Whereas prior to it, I was hunched over and constantly uncomfortable from the tightness of the healing skin. This allowed me more range of motion and the ability to recover quicker. I love that my scar was protected, healed faster, and looks better than if it healed on its own. I can't imagine going through this process without it and have recommended it to several friends already.” R.D.

How embrace® Works
embrace® is unlike any other scar reduction treatment. Although there are a wide variety of silicone scar sheets available, embrace® is a revolutionary technology. Here's how it works:
- Relieves skin tension. Tension pulls the skin on each side of the scar, which is a large part of the reason scars form in the first place. embrace® relieves tension by stabilizing the skin.
- Shields skin from movement. Innovative Stress-Shield™ technology stabilizes your skin when your body moves. In this way, the skin is protected from stress that make scars look thicker and wider.
- Hydrates and softens skin. The embrace® device is a silicone gel sheet. Rejuvenating silicone fades, softens and flattens scars by hydrating the skin and forming scar tissue.
This device is a one-step process: Place the adhesive sheet on the scar area. Our plastic surgeons will let you know how long to wait before using the sheet (typically 1 to 4 weeks after the sutures have been removed). You may be instructed to wear the sheet for about 2 months.
In the event you are concerned about a possible allergy, we can apply a small sample to your skin as a test. We just ask that you communicate your concerns with us in advance.
