Scar Revision TreatmentLiving with scars can be an embarrassing experience. It’s sometimes difficult to enjoy your daily activities if you are self-conscious about these imperfections on your skin. And if you are considering plastic surgery, you will have a scar from the surgical incision. At Park Meadows Cosmetic Surgery, we offer patients a one-of-a-kind scar therapy system to diminish the appearance of thick, visible, raised scars.

Scar revision begins during the healing process. For older, existing scars, you may need scar revision surgery first to better blend the scar’s appearance with surrounding tissue. Then we recommend patients use embrace® silicone sheets for dramatically less noticeable scars.

Embrace® is applied one to four weeks into scar healing and treatment typically lasts eight to twelve weeks with reapplication about every ten days. The silicone sheet gently holds the sides of a closed incision in place. This relieves skin tension, which greatly limits scar tissue formation and significantly improves scar appearance. The silicone sheet also hydrates and softens the skin to prevent hard, raised, and pigmented scars from forming.
