Our board-certified plastic surgeons at Park Meadows Cosmetic Surgery now have access to breakthrough treatment options with the Biodesign Nipple Reconstruction Cylinder® from Cook Medical®. Designed to signal the body to encourage rapid tissue remodeling, the Biodesign grafts strike a critical balance of strength and flexibility that achieve esthetically pleasing results. Introduced at the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) annual meeting, both products leverage the proven Biodesign technology platform which has, to date, been used in more than one million patient treatments across nine procedural areas in 96 countries.
The Biodesign Nipple Reconstruction Cylinder® is a first-of-its-kind product, providing a scaffold for re-establishing a nipple projection, historically viewed as a challenge for nipple reconstruction procedures. The nipple reconstruction cylinder gives natural thickness and feel to projections giving physicians the ability to comprehensively complete the reconstruction process. The The Biodesign Nipple Reconstruction Cylinder® is intended for implantation to reinforce soft tissue where weakness exists in patients requiring soft tissue repair or reinforcement in plastic and reconstructive surgery. The cylinder is supplied sterile and is intended for one time use. After surgery, the patient wears a nipple shield to protect and support the reconstructed nipple.
Dr. Jeremy Z. Williams and Dr. Christopher G. Williams are currently participating in a study for The Biodesign Nipple Reconstruction Cylinder®. At Park Meadows Cosmetic Surgery, are committed to staying at the forefront of plastic surgical technologies and procedures related to breast reconstruction and other cosmetic applications.
Established in 1995 and manufactured in the Cook Medical® Biotech facility in West Lafayette, Indiana, the grafts have been used in more than one million procedures and 96 countries to treat hernias, fistulas, stress urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and Peyronie’s disease, as well as in staple line reinforcement for bariatric surgery and wound care. To date, more than 775 peer-reviewed articles have been published on the technology behind Biodesign.
