Colorado Liposuction Surgery

Liposuction is one of the most popular procedures requested by patients and one of the most common operations performed in the United States and Europe. A French surgeon named Yves-Girard Illous, using a blunt canula, developed it. This technique has revolutionized body contouring in that it allows for removal of fat with minimal risk and deformity.

The contouring involves removing diet-resistant fat deposits that are genetically determined and typical, such as love handles on men’s sides or saddlebags on women’s hips and thighs. Liposuction can even be used in the face to remove fat under the chin (submental liposuction).

The operation may be performed under local, IV, or general anesthesia depending on the number and size of areas to be treated and if combined with other cosmetic procedures.
