A New Procedure Improves The Tummy Tuck
This past month provided Dr. Randolph C. Robinson with an exciting opportunity. He was given the opportunity of performing one of the first ultrasonic assisted abdominoplasties in Denver using the tool, the Harmonic scalpel. This technique uses high frequency vibration energy to cut through the tissue, and is thought to cause less tissue damage compared to other conventional methods such as electrocautery.
Dr. Robinson said that the surgery took a little bit longer to perform than conventional methods, but the opportunity to cause less tissue damage during the procedure and thus speed the recovery will be of benefit.
The Harmonic scalpel, which was used during the procedure, has been used in urologic surgery, thyroid surgery, and neurosurgery over the years, but is new in the cosmetic arena. The process is still under development, but it is hoped that the reduction in tissue injury during surgery will reduce complications and improve the healing process.
All of this means more opportunity for you, our patients. We look forward to providing you with the skill of top notch doctors, and the care of a top notch team.
